Sprig's Desk — delegate your web
Every other AI browser waits for you to ask. Chervil lets you hand Sprig an ongoing goal in plain language — "keep me posted on the Electron 40 release" — and he keeps a fresh, cited briefing on it in the background, on whatever cadence you choose. He only pings you when something actually changed: he compares the figures between runs — starting price $1,999 → $1,799 — and stays quiet when the model just reworded a paragraph. Point a goal at a page instead of a topic and he watches it for a price drop or a back-in-stock. Everything he does on his own lands in a Trust Ledger you can read and undo, and "my briefing" pulls it all — your goals, your feeds, what changed since you last looked — onto one page. It's the browser that keeps working when you close the laptop: persistent, proactive, local, and auditable.
It remembers what you read
Every other browser keeps a list of where you've been and throws away what was there. Chervil keeps a private index of your own reading — so you can ask "what was that laptop review I read last month?" and get the answer from your own history: instantly, free, offline, no search involved. Ask it to pull together everything you've read on a subject and it synthesizes across your sources, links back to each one, and tells you what you haven't looked at yet. Turn it up a notch and Chervil checks your own reading before composing anything at all, marking the parts that came from something you'd already read. Google never saw the page you read. Your browser did.
…and it stays on your machine
The index is a file on your computer. It's never synced, never uploaded, and no AI sees a page just because you read it — the text only reaches your AI provider if you ask a question it answers, exactly like attaching a file. Keeping the sites you read is off until you turn it on, and so is answering from it automatically — that one changes what leaves your machine, so Chervil asks first and lists whatever it used. Private tabs are never included, nor is anything behind a login or paywall, you can skip any site you name, and deleting really deletes.
It reads your feeds for you
You already have a feed reader. Chervil isn't trying to be a better one — it's the browser that reads your feeds and tells you what matters. Subscribe to RSS and Atom feeds, podcasts, newsletters, blogs, YouTube channels and subreddits (no API keys), or bring your whole list over from another reader in one OPML file — folders and all. Chervil pulls them quietly in the background; then just ask — "summarize the feeds in the Entertainment folder," "what's new in my Tech feeds" — and Sprig briefs you on what arrived, grouped by theme and linked, from your own sources with no web search. Add the built-in PulseKeeper agent and schedule it for a daily briefing. Feeds group into folders, each keeps items as long as you choose, and a 📡 in the toolbar subscribes from any page you visit.
Learn anything, interactively
Ask Sprig to teach you a topic and it builds an interactive lesson — swipeable cards with hands-on widgets you can actually use (dropdowns, simulators, live output) — or a graded quiz. Publish either to a shareable link, and the widgets stay interactive for everyone who opens it.
It shows you where sources disagree
Every AI answer engine reads a dozen sources and hands you back one confident sentence — and the places those sources contradicted each other quietly vanish. A list of blue links was better at this: you could see the third and fourth results didn't match. When the pages Sprig read give materially different answers on something that matters — a price, a date, a measured figure — it puts both positions on the page with the source that makes each one, and says which it finds more credible or that the question is genuinely unsettled. Rare by design: Sprig is told never to stretch a wording difference into a dispute, so when you see one it means something.
Tell it when it's wrong, and it remembers
Type /correct and what's actually true — "our office moved to Dayton in March" — and Sprig applies it to every page it composes from then on, instead of making the same mistake forever. Corrections are dated, listed in Settings, and removable one at a time. They beat what the model was trained on but not today's evidence: if Sprig finds a live source saying the world moved on, it goes with what it found and tells you, so an old note can't quietly outlive the truth.
Composed pages, not links
Ask a question and Sprig composes a single, beautiful, image-rich page — grounded in live web search. Every claim it draws from the web now carries an inline citation, and the Sources panel shows how fresh each source is, so you can see how current an answer is at a glance. Not quite right? Type a follow-up right on the page — "make it shorter," "focus on the budget options" — and Sprig refines it in place.
Compare anything, side by side
Ask Chervil to compare two things — "iPhone 16 vs Pixel 9," two frameworks, two towns — and it researches the live web and builds a sourced comparison table: your options as columns, the factors that matter as rows, the winner of each row flagged, a bottom-line verdict, and a "best for…" guide. Every cell is grounded in real sources, not memory. It's the comparison you'd open ten tabs and a search engine for, in one page.

Turn it on and Sprig crowns content-rich pages with a generated hero image — your OpenAI, Gemini, or Grok key, off by default. Tools like clocks and calculators stay clean.

Pick a page style — Balanced, Rich (visual and dense, with charts and callouts), or Minimal (lean and fast) — and Sprig composes to taste.
Or just chat — streaming, and web-aware
Want a plain back-and-forth instead of a composed page? Flip on chat mode for straight conversational replies that stream in as Sprig writes them — first words in under half a second, and a Stop button that keeps what he's already said. Sprig searches the live web right in the conversation, pulling in current news, prices, scores, and weather with its sources listed under the answer. Pick which model answers in chat (a quick one by default) without touching the model that builds your pages. It still sees any page you've composed, so you can ask about it — summarize it, explain a section, quiz you — then flip chat off to go back to pages and agentic actions.
Watchers — Chervil keeps an eye out
Ask Chervil to watch a page and tell you when something changes — "let me know when it's back in stock," "tell me when the price drops below $500," "ping me when the docs update." Sprig checks it in the background on a schedule and sends a notification the moment it happens; click the alert and it opens the page. Set one up by asking on any live site, or add a page URL as a goal on Sprig's Desk — watching a page is just a standing goal that points at a URL.
Sprig on every page
Sprig works with the site you're on, not just pages it composes. Ask about the page you're reading (highlight a passage and say "explain this"), translate any site in place to any language with one-click restore, have the article read aloud, or snip any region of the screen and ask "what's this chart?". Got several tabs open? Ask Sprig to compare them — it reads your open tabs' actual content, not just their titles.
Publish to your blog
Compose a page, then send it straight to your blog. WordPress gets a real draft through its own API (your Application Password stays in Chervil's encrypted vault); Medium imports it by URL with a canonical link back; Substack opens your editor with the post on your clipboard for one paste. Set up your blogs once in Settings, and — as always — Sprig drafts and fills while you press Publish. There's an optional toggle to let Sprig fill the editor for you, too.
Your places
Register your corners of the web — webmail, blog, X, Bluesky, and more — and Chervil starts knowing them: say "open my email" (typed or by voice), mailto: links open your webmail's compose window, and one-click tiles greet you on the welcome screen. A Share this page button drafts a tailored post and opens the right composer already written — Fedica to schedule it, AddToAny for 100+ services, or any network you've registered. You review and press Post — nothing ever posts itself.
Collections — pages Sprig can use
Gather a working set of pages into a named Collection from any tab's right-click menu — "Kyoto trip," "GPU reviews." Reopen the whole set as a tab group named after the Collection with one command, or use one as a data source: "compose a page based on the Kyoto Collection" and Sprig grounds the new page on your saved pages. They live in the Library and sync across your machines.
Turn it into a real book
Export any lesson or page as a chaptered EPUB — the format Kindle, Apple Books, Kobo, and KDP publishing accept — or as a print-ready PDF at true trim sizes (6×9, 5×8, A5, Letter) with optional bleed, book typography, and page numbers. The built-in image editor upscales pictures for print: a faithful on-device 2×, or AI-enhanced with your key.
One smart omnibox
A single bar for everything: type a URL to open the real site, a question to have Sprig compose a page, or a command like /learn — and your open tabs appear first as "Switch to tab," so you stop re-opening pages you already have. Ctrl+L to focus — no ten blue links.
A browser you can live in
Every tab is alive: background tabs keep playing music (with a clickable mute badge), switching is instant, and page state survives. Your pinned tabs warm up in the background the moment Chervil launches, so the first click on each one shows a loaded page instead of a spinner — mornings are fast. Organize with tab groups — named, colored, collapsible (with a fold arrow), restored after restart — duplicate or reload a tab from its right-click menu, and hide the tab bar entirely for a full-height page (it peeks back at the screen edge). Plus all the everyday furniture: a live address bar, per-site zoom memory, spell-check, find on the page, printing, an inline PDF viewer, reader view, favicons, Favorites with folders, a downloads shelf, multiple windows, picture-in-picture, and send-any-page-to-your-phone by QR. Popup sign-ins work, the toolbar is yours to arrange, and Chervil can be your default browser.
Switch in a few clicks
Moving from Chrome or Edge? A first-run Welcome setup walks you through it: bring your bookmarks, browsing history, saved passwords, and address autofill straight over — Brave, Vivaldi, and Opera too — then pick your search engine and make Chervil your default. Your favorite sites land in Favorites with their folders intact; passwords go into the encrypted vault from a quick CSV export. Read-only, on-device, nothing left behind.
Ad-free and private
Block ads and trackers on real sites with one toggle, and clear cookies and site data whenever you want — your bookmarks and saved logins stay put. Private tabs are truly private: each one runs in its own isolated, in-memory session, so its cookies vanish when it closes and sites there can't see your logged-in accounts. Sites ask before using your camera, mic, location, or notifications — per site, remembered, in private tabs too.
Passwords & cards, built in
Save logins and payment cards to one encrypted, passphrase-locked vault, and fill them on real sites with a click — never auto-submitted. Chervil offers to save new logins as you sign in, generates strong passwords, and auto-locks. Manage them like a real password manager: search, copy, and edit in place. Cards fill your name, number, and expiry at checkout; for safety the security code is never stored, and Sprig never sees any of it.
Summon it from anywhere
A global hotkey (Ctrl+Shift+Space) opens a quick-ask bar without leaving what you're doing — ask for a page, or tap 💬 to hold a quick chat with Sprig right there, no tab opened. It stays put while it answers, even if you switch apps, and carries into Chervil with one click when it turns into real work. Chervil lives in the tray, always a keystroke away.
Sprig on your phone
Chervil Chat is a hosted, chat-only Chervil that runs in any phone's browser — sign in and Sprig is a tap away, grounded in live web search, wherever you are. Talk to it, show it a photo and ask what you're looking at, and it remembers the conversation when you come back. Add it to your home screen and it opens full-screen like a native app: no download, no API key, nothing to set up. On Android there's a home-screen widget too — a one-tap pill that jumps straight to a chat, a photo question, or voice. Started something on your phone? Tap “To desktop” and it lands in a chat tab on your computer to finish or compose into a page. It runs on Chervil's own AI, so it's part of Pro. (getchervil.com/chat)

Turn on listening mode and speak — the wake phrase pops the quick-ask bar and captures your request hands-free. Wake-word detection runs fully on-device; your mic audio never leaves your machine until you talk to Sprig. It shows you what it heard and waits for your OK before composing — and a Noisy room mode handles a TV that never turns off: a clearer wake required, background audio ignored, and nothing transcribed unless someone actually spoke.

An agentic browser holds your keys and can act on your behalf — so "trust me" isn't good enough. Chervil is open source: read the code, run it, contribute. Authority doesn't live in the model's reasoning; a deterministic layer governs every action it's allowed to take.
