Sprig doesn't just compose pages — it works with the page you're on. On any live website, the toolbar gives you five ways to bring Sprig to the site (each one hideable in Settings → General → Toolbar buttons).
Ask about this page (💬)
Chat with Sprig about the site you're looking at: "summarize this", "what does it say about pricing?", "is this article's claim about X right?"
- In chat mode (the 💬 composer chip) it just works — Sprig automatically sees the page you're viewing.
- Not in chat mode? Click the 💬 toolbar button to arm a one-shot question: your next message goes to chat with the page as context, and then the composer goes back to normal. No mode-flipping.
- Select text first and Sprig treats your selection as what "this" refers to — highlight a confusing paragraph and ask "explain this".
It works on Chervil-composed pages too, and if your question sounds like it's about your tabs ("compare my open tabs", "which tab mentions the warranty?"), Sprig reads your other open tabs' content as well.
Translate this page (🌐)
Click 🌐 on any live site to translate it in place — the layout, links, and images stay exactly where they are; only the words change. Translate to your saved language in one click, or pick any language you can name. Show original switches back instantly, no reload. Your language choice is remembered for next time (default: English).
Translation uses your configured AI provider, so it costs a normal model call — a long page is translated in batches and fills in as it goes.
Read aloud (🔊)
Click 🔊 and Sprig reads the page's article text out loud with your chosen voice and speed (Settings → Voice). Select a passage first to hear just that part. Click again — or use the audio bar's Pause/Stop — to stop. Works on live sites and composed pages alike.
Snip (✂)
Click ✂ and drag a box over anything on screen — a chart, a table, an error message, a product photo. Then choose:
- Ask Sprig about it — the snip attaches to the composer, so "what's this chart showing?" just works,
- Copy to clipboard,
- Edit in Chervil — opens the built-in image editor (below),
- Save to Downloads, or
- Open in image viewer — hands it to your Windows-registered image app.
Esc cancels. The snip is pixel-exact and never includes the selection overlay itself.
The image editor
Edit in Chervil opens the snip in its own tab — a lightweight editor that sticks around (it's a normal page, so it survives restarts and can be bookmarked). The offline tools need no model at all: T Text (click the image to place a label), ◫ Erase (drag a box and it blends away into the surrounding color), ⛶ Crop, ↶ Undo, and ⤴ Upscale 2× — a faithful high-quality resample for when you need more pixels (say, for print).
For edits that need intelligence, use the Ask Sprig box — "remove the toolbar at the top," "add a red arrow pointing at the Submit button" — or just type into Chervil's main composer while the editor is open; it routes there automatically. AI edits use your Grok, OpenAI, or Gemini key (Settings → AI), and ✨ Enhance 2× does a real AI upscale the same way. One honest note: AI edits regenerate the image, so fine details can shift slightly — the offline tools never do.
When you're done: Copy, Save, Open in viewer, or Ask about it (attaches the edited image to the composer).
Compare your open tabs
In chat, ask things like "compare the three laptops I have open", "which of my tabs mentions a free tier?", or "summarize all my open tabs". Sprig gets a digest of your other tabs — including the actual page content of live background tabs — and answers across them. Tab context is only included when your question sounds tab-related, so ordinary chat doesn't share your tab list with the model.
